**R. Kelly’s Daughter Buku Abi Alleges Childhood Molestation in New Documentary**

Buku Abi, the daughter of R. Kelly and his ex-wife Andrea "Drea" Kelly, claims in a new documentary series that she was sexually abused by her father during her childhood. The disturbing allegations are explored in "Karma: A Daughter's Journey," where Abi, legally known as Joann Kelly, recounts the traumatic experiences.

In a candid conversation, Abi discusses the profound impact of the alleged abuse, saying, "He was my everything. For a long time, I didn't even want to believe that it happened. I didn't know that even if he was a bad person that he would do something to me." She revealed that her fear prevented her from disclosing the abuse initially, even to her mother.

Abi described the pivotal moment she confided in her mother, which marked a significant change in her life. "After I told my mom, I didn't go over there anymore; my brother and sister, we didn't go over there anymore," she stated, referring to her siblings Robert and Jaah.

R. Kelly's legal team promptly denied the allegations. In a statement to People magazine, his attorney Jennifer Bonjean asserted, "Mr. Kelly vehemently denies these allegations. His ex-wife made the same allegation years ago, and it was investigated by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services and was unfounded." Bonjean also criticized the filmmakers for not contacting Kelly or his representatives for comment on the claims.

The release of this documentary coincides with recent legal decisions involving the disgraced singer. On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Kelly's appeal regarding his 2022 federal conviction on charges related to child pornography and the luring of underage girls for sex. He is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Abi's account in the documentary is harrowing as she recalls being 8 or 9 years old when the abuse allegedly occurred. "I just remember waking up to him touching me," she emotionally recounts. She admitted to feeling paralyzed and pretending to be asleep during the incident, which she says fundamentally altered her personality.

This revelation is part of a broader narrative that Abi has openly shared over the years. In 2019, she publicly distanced herself from her father and condemned his actions, referring to him as a "monster" and noting the estrangement between her siblings and their father.

"Karma: A Daughter's Journey" is currently available for streaming on TVEI Streaming Network.
