In a heartwarming act of community vigilance and bravery, a group of New York City residents came together to apprehend a migrant suspected of brutally assaulting and raping a 13-year-old girl in broad daylight. The incident occurred in the Queens neighborhood, where concerns over safety have been prevalent.

Daniel Ramos, a resident of Queens, spoke out about the remarkable incident on "America's Newsroom," expressing the relief and gratitude felt by the community after the suspect's capture. "Everybody in the community is pretty happy that we did this because around there there's a lot of things going on, so they feel more safe," Ramos stated.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, was arrested by the New York Police Department (NYPD) following the citizen's arrest conducted by this group of courageous individuals. The district attorney revealed that Inga-Landi has confessed to raping the young girl and recording the horrifying act after kidnapping her and another 13-year-old boy.

According to Ramos, Inga-Landi was a frequent visitor at a local store near where he and his friends often gathered. Upon hearing about the incident, Ramos and his group decided to take matters into their own hands. They meticulously planned their actions to catch the suspect, leading to his eventual apprehension.

As soon as Inga-Landi arrived at the store, Ramos's friends, Jeffrey and Angela, confronted him while inside. They attempted to detain him within the store, but eventually, with the help of other residents, the suspect was cornered outside. Approximately 10 residents assisted in detaining Inga-Landi until the arrival of NYPD officers, who then discovered him hiding under a nearby car.

Ramos conveyed that Inga-Landi attempted to offer an explanation for his actions, but the group was unwilling to listen. "There was nothing really to explain," Ramos said, highlighting the severity and horrifying nature of the crime committed against the innocent girl. "What he did was horrible. And he did that to a 13-year-old, innocent little girl. So we don't condone that," he added.

Inga-Landi now faces multiple charges, including rape, kidnapping, and endangering the welfare of a child. If found guilty, he could be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. At his arraignment, Inga-Landi did not enter a plea, and the judge ordered him to be remanded without bail.

The heroic actions of these community members have not gone unnoticed, as they are being commended for their bravery and commitment to protecting their neighborhood. Their intervention has brought a sense of relief and unity to the Queens community, resonating with the sentiment that the safety of children is of paramount importance.
