Authorities in upstate New York have apprehended a border patrol agent, Shane Millan, on charges of violating women's constitutional rights by allegedly forcing them to expose their chests during virtual processing to enter the United States. Millan, 53, was arraigned on Thursday in Syracuse, facing four counts of a misdemeanor, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern District of New York.

The U.S. Attorney's Office revealed that Millan, on three separate occasions, allegedly ordered women seeking admission into the U.S. to undress and expose their bare chests over webcam. On the fourth occasion, one woman's bra was left on. Each time, Millan deceived the women by falsely claiming that the strip search was part of the required protocol.

In a statement, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York unequivocally stated, "Millan's demands to see the victims' breasts were for his own gratification." The alleged offenses took place in Jefferson County, near the Canadian border, and "elsewhere" as per the charging documents.

Attorneys representing Millan and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have yet to respond to requests for comment. However, CBP emphasized in a statement to CNN that the agency does not tolerate misconduct among its ranks. The statement further expressed CBP's commitment to promptly referring any alleged or potential misconduct for investigation, and to fully cooperate with both criminal and administrative inquiries.
