In a series of recent fundraisers and speeches, President Joe Biden has been reminding voters about former President Donald Trump's tenure and highlighting his Republican opponent's campaign statements, as he gears up for his own reelection bid.

During a fundraiser in Seattle, Biden referenced Trump's recent interview with Time magazine, in which Trump expressed his belief that states should have the authority to prosecute women for abortions or monitor their pregnancies. Biden urged the attendees to read the interview, emphasizing the importance of understanding Trump's stance on the issue.

Biden, who had multiple fundraising events scheduled, utilized various examples from Trump's presidency to demonstrate what he believes were chaotic and concerning actions. He highlighted Trump's promise to be a "dictator on Day 1," his reluctance to defend allies from aggression, and his vow to "totally obliterate the deep state" within the federal bureaucracy.

The President also drew attention to Trump's efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election and his perceived indifference towards the violent Capitol attack on January 6th. Additionally, Biden mentioned Trump's controversial policies, such as separating children from their families at the U.S.-Mexico border, implementing tax cuts that primarily benefited wealthy individuals and corporations, and repeatedly attempting to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.

Biden's campaign strategy seeks to make the 2024 election a referendum on Trump's record and plans, while also promoting his own policies and actions. Recognizing that Trump is now less present on social media platforms and television appearances, Biden and his allies believe it is crucial to remind the country of Trump's presidential tenure and the consequential impact it had.

Responding to Trump's criticism, Biden has sharpened his own attacks. At a Seattle fundraiser, he jokingly referred to Trump as "Sleepy Don," referencing reports of the former president dozing off during his New York criminal trial related to hush money payments. Biden also mocked Trump's admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his correspondence with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

However, Biden's strategy is not without risks. The American public remains divided in their views of both Biden and Trump's presidencies. A recent poll indicated that almost half of the respondents believed Trump's presidency had negative effects on various aspects such as voting rights, election security, relations with foreign countries, abortion laws, and climate change. Conversely, more than half expressed concerns about the cost of living and immigration under Biden's administration.

Nevertheless, Biden does not solely focus on Trump in his campaign. He also discusses his own agenda and accomplishments, highlighting efforts to revive the economy and steer the country out of the pandemic. Biden reaffirms his support for abortion rights, even as he acknowledges Trump's role in reshaping the Supreme Court, potentially endangering the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.

As Biden rallies his supporters, he emphasizes the clear choice between what he describes as Trump's vision of revenge and retribution versus his positive outlook for the future. He expresses optimism about America's chances, not because of his presidency, but due to the current state of affairs, asserting that the world needs the United States.

With the 2024 election on the horizon, Biden's strategy of highlighting Trump's presidency and policies aims to appeal to voters while underscoring the importance of his own agenda in shaping the future of the country.
