In a recent visit to Atlanta, President Joe Biden faced criticism and mockery on social media after video footage showed what appeared to be a small showing of supporters greeting his motorcade. The footage, which showed largely empty streets dotted with a few people filming the procession, sparked a wave of criticism from detractors.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) was quick to seize upon the opportunity to attack President Biden, with RNC research posting a tweet that read, "Crooked Joe Biden - dazed and confused, as usual - shuffles down the short stairs in Atlanta ahead of his day of pandering. He ignores questions." They followed up with a question, accompanied by the video footage, asking, "If a presidential motorcade passes through town but absolutely nobody cares - did it really pass through town?"

Critics on social media were quick to join in the mockery. One user posted, "Biden arrived in Georgia to participate in a campaign event, and his motorcade drove through deep blue Atlanta. Nobody cared." Another sarcastically wrote, "Haha. Man, can Biden draw a crowd. The only people there are waiting to cross the street."

Despite the apparent lackluster reception, Biden held a successful fundraising event in the expensive Atlanta neighborhood of Buckhead. Speaking to supporters at the event, the president praised Georgia voters, attributing his 2020 victory against former President Trump to their efforts. "If you ever doubt the power of the vote, I say come to Georgia. You are the reason I won. Georgia is the reason I'm president right now," Biden declared.

However, Biden's visit to Atlanta was not without controversy. Earlier this month, students at Morehouse College expressed outrage over the president's commencement speech at the historically Black college, believing it to be politically motivated. The students voiced their opposition, claiming that they were being used as political pawns to secure more Black votes.

Protests were also held ahead of Biden's speech, with some criticizing the U.S.'s handling of the war in Israel. Students and faculty gathered to express their discontent, asserting that inviting Biden and granting him an honorary degree made no sense from a human and moral perspective.

Despite the mixed reactions during his visit, President Biden also took the time to engage with supporters at Mary Mac's Tea Room before attending the fundraiser at the Arthur M. Blank Family Office. The president thanked his supporters, stating, "You all brung me to the dance. You really made a gigantic difference."

While Biden's motorcade may not have generated the fanfare some expected, the president remained focused on his objectives during his time in Atlanta.
