President Joe Biden raised concerns in a recent interview regarding the possibility of a peaceful transfer of power if former President Donald Trump loses the election this fall. When asked about his confidence in the peaceful transition of power in January 2025 during an interview with CBS News, Biden responded, "If Trump loses, I'm not confident at all."

Biden also expressed his belief that people were not taking Trump's previous comments about a potential "bloodbath" seriously. He stated, "He means it, all the stuff about if we lose, there'll be a bloodbath. You can't love your country only when you win."

Trump's remarks about a "bloodbath" were made in March, where he warned of potential consequences for the country if he were to lose the election in November. However, during a presidential debate on June 27, Trump evaded a question about accepting the 2024 election results and only committed to accepting a fair and legal election outcome.

In addition to his concerns, Biden referred to recent efforts that could complicate the post-election certification processes. He highlighted a move by the Republican-controlled State Election Board in Georgia, which granted local officials more power over the certification of election results. Notably, Trump praised the officials who approved this rule change.

The full interview with President Joe Biden discussing these concerns and other related matters is set to air on Sunday morning. The comments made by both Biden and Trump have renewed attention to the importance of a peaceful transition of power and the need to uphold the democratic values of the United States.
