In a sharp reversal of fortunes, the Biden campaign has seized upon a stumble by President Donald Trump at a Minnesota rally to mock his age, turning one of his favorite digs against him. The incident, which occurred on Friday, saw Trump grabbing onto the lectern during his speech after nearly toppling it over. Video footage of the incident was shared by Biden-Harris HQ on X.

Captioned "A feeble Trump nearly falls down on stage after he leans on his podium too hard and then goes on an angry rant calling his event workers 'crappy'," the video captures the moment Trump struggles to maintain his balance. Responding to the mishap, the Biden campaign humorously highlighted the incident as evidence of Trump's advanced age.

In the video, Trump can be seen dramatically leaning over the side of the podium, shuffling out from behind it, and proceeding to launch into a tirade about the poor quality of the stage setup. With ad-libbed remarks, he questions, "You know this is the worst platform, who put this stage up?" and adds, "The fricking place is falling down." Injecting his signature humor, Trump jokes, "I notice it keeps tilting to the left, like too many other things!"

However, the tone of Trump's speech quickly takes a more sinister turn. He continues to assert the falsehood that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against him and implies the need for voter intimidation in the upcoming November election. "I know we won [Minnesota] in 2020," Trump insists, adding, "We've got to be careful. We've got to watch those votes."

While both Trump and Biden have faced embarrassing gaffes that have been exploited by their opponents as signs of mental decline, Trump's decision to campaign in Minnesota, a state he has won twice before, is reportedly not merely an exercise of ego. Advisers within Trump's inner circle believe he has a chance to flip the state, despite skepticism from Minnesota Democrats and some Republicans who view it as an uphill battle.

The latest incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing age-related jabs between the two campaigns, with Biden's team using Trump's stumble to highlight concerns about his fitness for office. As the November election approaches, the political battle between the two candidates is expected to intensify, with both sides seeking to exploit any perceived weakness in the other.
