Barricade Suspect Found Dead in Henderson, Roads Reopen

Henderson, NV - A multi-day barricade in Henderson came to a tragic end as the suspect was discovered deceased, according to Henderson Police. The incident began on Friday afternoon in a residence located on the 200 block of Callen Falls Avenue, near Galleria and Water Street.

On Saturday afternoon, Henderson Police Department (HPD) informed the public through a social media video that the barricade was still ongoing. HPD Sgt. Daniel Medrano reported that at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, officers engaged in a shooting with the suspect. Fortunately, no officers or the suspect were injured during the encounter.

Concerns arose among residents due to the suspect's possession of long-range rifles. One neighbor expressed gratitude for the efforts of law enforcement, stating, "I feel like they're doing the best they can right now because of what this individual has, long-range rifles, and they don't want to see him use them to hurt anybody or kill anybody who is innocent here."

Early on Sunday morning, HPD announced that the suspect had been located deceased, leading to the reopening of roads in the area. The police have not provided further details regarding the incident but stated that more information would be released in the coming days.

The community is left grappling with the aftermath while authorities continue their investigation into the barricade situation.
