**Barbara Bush Backs Kamala Harris Campaign in Final Election Push**

Barbara Pierce Bush, daughter of former Republican President George W. Bush, has voiced her support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election, demonstrating her hopes for the country's future under Harris's leadership. Her father, George W. Bush, has chosen not to endorse any candidate at this time.

Throughout the past weekend, Barbara Bush, along with campaign volunteers, canvassed Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state. Her twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, is a well-known anchor on NBC's "Today," but Barbara finds herself in the political arena advocating for a Democratic candidate. "Joining friends and meeting voters with the Harris-Walz campaign in Pennsylvania this weekend was inspiring," the 42-year-old said in an interview with People magazine. "I’m hopeful they’ll move our country forward and protect women's rights."

This support is not unprecedented for Barbara, who has previously deviated from the Republican Party's mainstream. In 2017, she was a keynote speaker at a Planned Parenthood fundraiser in Texas, where she lauded the organization’s efforts and emphasized the importance of its mission, especially under the Trump administration.

Interestingly, Barbara Bush is not alone among former first daughters showing support for Harris. Susan Ford Bales, daughter of former President Gerald Ford, has also endorsed the vice president. Additionally, former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., have appeared at Harris’s campaign events, reinforcing the bipartisan backing Harris is receiving from individuals known for their Republican ties.

In these final days leading up to Election Day, the involvement of prominent political families from both sides of the aisle highlights the high stakes and diverse support at play in Harris's bid for re-election.
