### Bank of America Customers Hit by Widespread Outage

Thousands of Bank of America customers found themselves unable to access their accounts on Wednesday afternoon due to a significant outage. Many reported being unable to view their account balances, with some even seeing alarming $0 balances displayed.

Social media platforms quickly became a hub for frustrated customers airing their grievances about the issue. Numerous users attempting to log into the banking app were faced with a "Connection Error" message, which stated that it was "unable to complete your request" and instructed them to "try again later."

According to Downdetector, a website that tracks online outages, nearly 20,000 customers reported issues by 1:15 p.m. Eastern Time. This number saw a decline before rising again around 2:45 p.m. ET, indicating the persistence and reoccurrence of the problem.

The exact cause of the outage remains a mystery. However, a Bank of America spokesperson acknowledged the issue, stating, "Some clients are experiencing an issue accessing their accounts and balance information today. These issues are being addressed and have largely been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience."

The outage prompted many customers to take to social media platforms like X and Reddit to confirm their suspicions and see if others were experiencing similar problems. Additionally, a significant number of customers reported facing difficulties in reaching Bank of America's customer service for assistance.

This is not the first outage to hit Bank of America; over the summer, the bank encountered problems when CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity company, had a massive crash due to a flawed update.
