In a tragic incident on Saturday night, a baby lost her life while her mother and another child were left hospitalized after being hit by a car at an intersection in the Feltonville section of North Philadelphia, according to a spokesperson from the Philadelphia Police Department.

The accident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. at the corner of North Front Street and East Wyoming Avenue. A 31-year-old woman was pushing a stroller with her 22-month-old daughter inside, accompanied by a 13-year-old child. They were crossing the street with the green light when a blue Dodge Ram 1500 Classic, driven by a 28-year-old man, attempted to turn northbound onto Front Street from the eastbound direction.

Unfortunately, the truck collided with all three individuals in the intersection. The impact was severe, resulting in critical injuries. Emergency services were immediately called to the scene, and the baby was rushed to a nearby hospital by medics. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at approximately 9:32 p.m., according to officials.

Both the woman and the accompanying child suffered injuries to their feet and ankles in the crash. They were also transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash. It remains unclear whether any charges will be filed against the driver of the Dodge Ram 1500 Classic involved.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers pedestrians face on the roads, even when following traffic signals. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution and remain vigilant, particularly in highly congested areas.

Efforts are currently being made to provide support to the grieving family during this difficult time, and counseling services will be made available to anyone affected by the tragedy.

As the investigation progresses, the Philadelphia community mourns the loss of a precious young life and holds hope for the swift recovery of the injured victims.
