Authorities in Cochise County, Arizona, are on the lookout for a 66-year-old man connected to threats against former President Donald Trump. Ronald Lee Syrvud, a resident of Benson, is now wanted for several outstanding warrants, including the recent threats to harm the Republican presidential candidate.
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office has intensified efforts to locate Syrvud, especially due to the coincidence of former President Trump's visit to the Arizona border on the same day. Trump is scheduled to visit Sierra Vista, where he will tour a section of the U.S.-Mexico border that his vice presidential running mate, Senator JD Vance, visited just three weeks ago.
According to law enforcement officials, Syrvud is wanted by authorities in Wisconsin for driving under the influence (DUI) and failing to appear for DUI charges. Additionally, he has outstanding warrants from Graham County, Arizona, for hit and run, and felony failure to register as a sex offender. The sheriff's office has also discovered that Syrvud has failed to register as a sex offender in Coconino County.
Described as a 6-foot white male with white hair and green eyes, authorities are urging anyone with information about Syrvud's whereabouts to contact their local law enforcement agency or call 911. The search for Syrvud remains ongoing, and officials are taking the threats against former President Trump seriously.
In light of this situation, authorities are emphasizing the importance of reporting any suspicious activities or threats made against public figures. The safety and well-being of politicians and public figures are a top priority for law enforcement, and they are actively working to prevent any potential harm.
As the search for Ronald Syrvud continues, the Cochise County Sheriff's Office remains committed to ensuring the safety of the former president and the general public.
