### Crime Reports Released After First Weekend of ACL Music Festival in Austin

The Austin Police Department (APD) has disclosed crime data following the first weekend of the Austin City Limits Music Festival held at Zilker Park. Officers from APD were on high alert throughout the event, working diligently to deter criminal activities, intercept crimes in progress, and apprehend offenders.

During Weekend One, two individuals were arrested; one for evading on foot and the other based on an apprehension request. APD reported a total of 225 calls for service, resulting in 70 offense reports being filed. Among these, 44 were theft-from-person reports, with 42 specifically involving stolen cell phones.

More detailed statistics are expected after the conclusion of Weekend Two of the festival, as noted by the APD. In conjunction with releasing these preliminary figures, the department also issued several safety tips for festival-goers. Key advice includes securing cell phones, avoiding placing them in easily accessible pockets, and keeping bags zipped or locked. Attendees are encouraged to stay vigilant, seek assistance from officers if needed, secure personal property, and to use the APD’s online reporting site or Austin 3-1-1 for non-emergency theft incidents.

By planning their routes and following these tips, festival attendees can help reduce the risk of theft and ensure a safer experience for everyone.
