French police are on the hunt for armed robbers who hit a jewelry store on the prestigious Avenue Montaigne in Paris. According to reports, the targeted store is believed to be the exclusive Harry Winston boutique, known as the "Jeweler to the Stars."

The robbers arrived and fled the scene on motorbikes, firing a shot outside the store without causing any injuries. A video broadcast by BFM-TV captured the suspects dressed in black as they made their getaway on two motorbikes.

While a store worker confirmed that the jeweler had been robbed, no further details or identities were provided before the call abruptly ended. The luxury boutique has been cordoned off by the police, who are currently investigating the incident.

The Paris prosecutor's office, responsible for overseeing the investigation, has confirmed the robbery location as Avenue Montaigne. However, they have not officially confirmed if Harry Winston was the intended target. The prosecutor's office also did not disclose whether the robbers were able to escape with any valuable jewels, and if so, the estimated worth of the stolen items.

Harry Winston, the jewelry brand in question, has not responded to inquiries from The Associated Press regarding the incident.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time the high-end store has fallen victim to a robbery. Back in 2008, a spectacular heist took place at Harry Winston, where three cross-dressing gunmen made off with approximately $92 million worth of loot. In 2015, eight individuals were convicted in connection with this incident.

As the investigation continues, the authorities are working tirelessly to apprehend the armed robbers and recover any stolen items.
