Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, along with Representative Steve Womack and Senator John Boozman, arrived in Rogers to assess the aftermath of the destructive storms that occurred on Sunday morning. During their visit, the lawmakers engaged with local officials, individuals impacted by the storms, and the dedicated crews providing assistance to those in need. Following their inspection in Rogers and Decatur, the trio will proceed to Marion County later today.

Yesterday, the three elected officials convened a conference where they shared that the death toll, both directly and indirectly connected to the storms, had tragically risen to eight in Arkansas. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders disclosed that among the deceased, three were from Benton County. Representative Steve Womack attributed one death to an individual who suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and tragically passed away due to a lack of access to oxygen. Additionally, the Benton County Judge revealed another fatality resulting from a tree collapsing onto a trailer.

The closely coordinated efforts of Arkansas officials and cleanup crews aim to assess the extent of the damage caused by the storms, offer support to affected individuals, and coordinate relief measures for those in need. As the situation unfolds, further updates on the efforts to rehabilitate the affected areas and ensure the well-being of the impacted citizens will be communicated.
