**Arkansas Father Arrested After Fatal Shooting in Search for Missing Daughter**

In a shocking turn of events in Lonoke County, an Arkansas father, Aaron Spencer, was arrested following an incident where he allegedly shot and killed 67-year-old Michael Fosler. The confrontation occurred after Spencer found Fosler in a vehicle with his 14-year-old daughter, who had been reported missing earlier that day.

Deputies from the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office were initially dispatched to the Spencer residence after the missing person report. However, before they could arrive, Spencer had already located his daughter and Fosler, leading to a violent encounter between the two men. Authorities detained Spencer on a preliminary first-degree murder charge, considered a Class Y felony. He was booked into the Lonoke County Detention Center but released the next day after posting bail.

Sheriff John Staley addressed the community in a Facebook video, stating that Spencer has not yet been formally charged. The local District Attorney's Office will make the final decision regarding any charges. "This is a tragic situation and my thoughts and prayers are with all involved," Staley expressed.

Heather Spencer, Aaron's wife, shared more details on social media. She revealed that Fosler had a "no contact order" with their daughter due to charges of stalking and sexual assault from the summer. The family was unaware of Fosler's renewed contact with their daughter, which had severe implications for her safety. "We absolutely called 911 during the entire event," Heather Spencer wrote. She also criticized the response of the county sheriff's office, alleging they mishandled the situation and breached her family's privacy.

According to Sheriff Staley, Fosler had been arrested in July for internet stalking of a child and sexual assault. "I absolutely do not support predators," Staley stated, emphasizing his commitment to protecting children. He also noted that the investigation would determine whether the shooting was justified.

Amidst these developments, Heather Spencer attempted to raise legal defense funds for her husband through GoFundMe, but the platform removed the fundraiser, citing its policy against raising money for the legal defense of individuals formally charged with violent crimes. In response, the family has turned to Venmo and Cash App for support.

In a heartfelt message, Heather Spencer referred to her husband as a hero and expressed gratitude for community support. She also acknowledged other victims who shared their experiences with similar allegations against Fosler. "We have gotten a clear picture of a predator who continuously worked with children and preyed on young girls," she asserted, highlighting Fosler’s past roles in law enforcement.

The investigation into the incident continues as the community grapples with the complex and distressing situation.
