**Teen Indicted for Alleged Phoenix Pride Parade Terror Plot**

A teenager from Arizona faces serious charges after a grand jury indicted him for allegedly planning a terror attack on the Phoenix Pride Parade earlier this month. Maricopa County prosecutors announced that 17-year-old Marvin Aneer Jalo has been arrested on terrorist charges and will be tried as an adult.

According to the indictment, Jalo is accused of providing substantial support to ISIL, also known as ISIS, with intentions to further their extremist objectives. Authorities revealed that Jalo had plotted an attack on the Phoenix Pride Festival, engaging in online discussions about creating improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The Maricopa County Attorney's Office stated that Jalo had the necessary supplies shipped to him and planned to manufacture TATP, a highly volatile explosive material capable of causing severe injuries or fatalities when detonated.

Investigations uncovered that between November 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024, Jalo was active in online chat rooms, discussing detailed plans and even posting videos of himself making TATP after receiving the explosive ingredients last November. Aside from plans regarding the Phoenix Pride Parade, Jalo reportedly talked about constructing a remote-controlled bomb and targeting other locations, including New York City, as evidenced by conversations on the messaging platform Telegram.

Court documents further revealed that Jalo was apprehended at his home in Buckeye for a separate incident involving criminal damage and disorderly conduct with a domestic violence component. Jalo's mother had voiced concerns to the police, mentioning her suspicions that her son was collaborating in chat rooms with individuals she described as terrorists. She believed these individuals were plotting a possible attack and recruiting her son.

When questioned by authorities, Jalo confessed to interacting with extremists who were actively trying to recruit him. He admitted he felt the need to gain more knowledge and become better prepared before participating in a terrorist event. The prosecutors disclosed that part of Jalo's plan involved using a "bomb drone" to transport his explosives, further elaborating on his elaborate and dangerous intentions.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about online radicalization and the significant threats posed by domestic terrorist activities. With Jalo set to be charged as an adult, the justice system now faces the challenge of addressing such serious allegations against a young individual.
