**Alyssa Farah Griffin: Trump’s Vulgar Comments as a Distraction Tactic**

Former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin suggests that Donald Trump's crude remarks are a deliberate strategy to divert voter attention from more critical and possibly perilous issues. During a recent rally, the Republican presidential candidate provocatively talked about the size of the late golfer Arnold Palmer's penis.

Appearing on CNN’s "OutFront" with Erin Burnett, Griffin acknowledged that these kinds of comments are typical for Trump. "But there is some wisdom and strategy to him just flooding the zone with crazy," she claimed. According to Griffin, such distractions prevent the public from focusing on more alarming statements, such as Trump’s past claims about potentially using the American military against U.S. citizens.

Griffin drew attention to past experiences during her tenure in the White House. She recounted how, in 2020, she was present in the Oval Office when Trump allegedly discussed the idea of using the military to shoot protesters following the police killing of George Floyd, a Black man. Griffin emphasized, "This is a real thing that happened in his last term and he would absolutely do it again."

By generating sensational headlines, Trump keeps the conversation away from issues that could have more severe implications, warned Griffin. This deliberate tactic of drawing focus to controversial yet less significant matters allows him to dodge scrutiny on far graver subjects.
