Three out of the four individuals arrested for the suspected murder of "General Hospital" actor Johnny Wactor had previously been arrested and subsequently released, leading to criticism of Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón's approach to crime. The Los Angeles Police Department revealed on Thursday that they had apprehended four members of the Florencia 13 gang in connection with Wactor's killing on May 25. The suspects, identified as Robert Barceleau, Leonel Gutierrez, Sergio Estrada, and Frank Olano, range in age from 18 to 22.

Micah Parker, Wactor's closest friend, expressed his belief that his friend's death could have been prevented had the individuals involved not been released under Gascón's lenient policies. In an interview with The Daily Wire, Parker voiced his concerns about what he perceives as a shift towards a more "pro-criminal city" mentality in Los Angeles. He argued that the focus should be on holding individuals accountable for their actions, rather than delving into their personal backgrounds.

Barceleau, Gutierrez, and Estrada, all 18 years old, were arrested on suspicion of murder, while Olano, aged 22, is believed to have played a role as an accessory. All four are now detained on a $2 million bond.

Records from the correctional facility reviewed by The Daily Wire revealed that Barceleau, Gutierrez, and Olano had prior encounters with the law. Olano even had a previous conviction. It was also reported by CBS News that both Barceleau and Gutierrez had been arrested and subsequently released after Wactor's murder.

Parker expressed his frustration over the fact that these individuals had been previously apprehended but released, some even prior to the actor's tragic death. He contended that if Olano had been held in custody, the incident may never have occurred. Moreover, despite being in custody just 11 days after the murder, they were later released on bond, even after Barceleau faced charges related to assault with a deadly weapon.

Barceleau's subsequent arrest for assault with a deadly weapon on top of an undisclosed misdemeanor in July, as well as Gutierrez's arrest for felony vandalism in July, further fuel concerns regarding the prior release of these individuals. Surprisingly, Gutierrez was released due to being considered a juvenile, despite being 18 years old himself.

Prior to Wactor's murder, Olano had been arrested twice, once in 2022 for a felony and again in 2023 for two additional charges, including another felony. He had spent a short period in jail for one of these incidents but was eventually placed on probation for felony vandalism during the time of Wactor's murder.

The release of these individuals, some of whom had previous criminal records, before the alleged murder has sparked outrage and intensified the scrutiny on District Attorney Gascón's criminal justice policies. The incident has reignited the debate over the balance between rehabilitation and accountability in the criminal justice system. Meanwhile, the tragic loss of Johnny Wactor has shocked the entertainment industry and left his loved ones in mourning.
