**6-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Florida Home; Mother Charged with Murder**
Tragic news emerged from Fort Pierce, Florida, after a six-year-old boy, Ra'myl Pierre, was discovered lifeless in his bed on Friday. His mother, Rhonda Paulynice, 31, has been charged with second-degree murder. Authorities allege that Paulynice was attempting to "exorcise demons" from her son's body, under the belief that she was being instructed by God, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Richard R. Del Toro Jr.
The somber discovery was made shortly after 10 a.m. when school resource deputies asked for a welfare check on the child. Deputies found Ra'myl in his bedroom, unresponsive, following an escort into the home by his mother, who met the authorities in the driveway.
The exact cause of the young boy's death is currently unknown, pending the results of an autopsy. Sheriff Toro noted the sheriff’s office had previously responded to the residence but not in connection with the child. The last interaction with law enforcement occurred on May 17 for a medical issue concerning Paulynice, just one day before it is believed Ra'myl was killed.
Paulynice faced additional charges for failing to report a death and for altering a body. In a news conference, Sheriff Toro revealed that during interviews, Paulynice claimed her actions were divinely guided, believing that once her son had passed, he was freed from supposed demonic possession.
Further investigation uncovered that there had been past domestic issues in the home, particularly involving Paulynice and her sister, though none of these incidents involved the child. Officers last communicated with Ra'myl on May 18, the day investigators suspect the tragic event took place.
The emotional response of Paulynice during the investigation was noted, as she displayed a wide range of emotions from laughter to tears. It remains unclear if Paulynice has legal representation to address the charges against her, as the second-degree murder case was not listed in online court records by Friday evening.
Sheriff Toro concluded that additional insights into the child’s death are expected following the autopsy, providing further clarity into this heartbreaking case.
