LAS VEGAS (KLAS) - Sakari Harnden, 19, made an appearance in Las Vegas Justice Court on Tuesday morning in connection with an alleged kidnapping and murder case. Harnden and her boyfriend, Chance Comanche, 27, are accused of orchestrating the abduction and killing of Marayna Rodgers, a 23-year-old woman visiting Las Vegas from Washington state.

The court hearing focused on an unrelated theft charge against Harnden. During her arrest at Henderson Hospital on December 13, Las Vegas Metropolitan police discovered two stolen Rolex watches in her possession. One of the watches, valued at approximately $15,000, had been reported stolen in Seattle, Washington.

When asked if she intended to seek bail for the theft charge, Harnden responded, "Because of my other charges, there's no reason to."

In addition to the theft charge, Harnden is facing charges of open murder and kidnapping in relation to Rodgers' death. According to the arrest report, Harnden initially filed a missing persons report for Rodgers on December 6, the same day the alleged killing took place. However, investigators uncovered inconsistencies and false information within Harnden's report.

Law enforcement officials discovered that Harnden and Rodgers had been in a dispute a few days prior to Rodgers' disappearance. Rodgers had reportedly implicated Comanche in a murder case in California. Investigators believe this dispute played a significant role in the subsequent murder of Rodgers.

Despite multiple attempts to contact Harnden, she evaded questioning and refused to return calls from the police. Harnden was eventually located in Henderson on December 8, and she denied having any argument with Rodgers. Instead, she claimed that she and Rodgers had planned to engage in prostitution with Comanche on the night of December 5. According to police documents, Harnden stated that Rodgers left in an Uber for another appointment and had not been seen since. However, investigators found no evidence to support Harnden's claims regarding the Uber.

Further investigation revealed text messages dating back to December 1, which showed Harnden and Comanche plotting the kidnapping and murder of Rodgers. Additional evidence from cell phone towers indicated that Harnden, Comanche, and Rodgers were together until 3:35 a.m. on December 6, after which Rodgers' phone appeared to be deactivated.

The most damning evidence against Harnden came from Comanche's arrest report, where he provided a detailed account of their involvement in Rodgers' abduction and murder. Comanche also provided police with a map indicating the possible location of Rodgers' body.

Comanche, a former NBA player, was arrested in California and is expected to appear in a Sacramento courtroom later today. He is will likely be extradited to Nevada to face charges related to the alleged crimes committed in Las Vegas.

As the investigation unfolds, Harnden remains in custody, facing multiple charges related to theft, murder, and kidnapping. The court proceedings for her case will continue as more information is brought to light.
