In the wake of overnight rainfall, the weekend forecast for the area indicates a pleasant weather pattern with mild temperatures and partly sunny skies. According to the latest updates, there is no cause for concern regarding flooding as the rain accumulations remain within the 0.5 to 1 inch range.

Today, additional rainfall ranging from 0.5 to 1 inch is anticipated, with coastal areas likely to experience higher totals. Inland regions can expect lesser amounts of rainfall. The coastal low pressure system passing nearby will also bring breezy conditions, with gusts possibly reaching 25 to 30 mph from the northeast. These winds are expected to peak during the afternoon hours. High temperatures today will hover around 60 degrees, with only a slight drop expected tonight. On-and-off light rain showers may continue intermittently.

As the low pressure system gradually moves eastward, a transition is expected. Some light showers may persist near the coast, alongside the arrival of drier air moving in from the north. Consequently, skies will be mostly cloudy, and highs will reach the mid-60s. Northerly winds blowing at approximately 10 mph, with occasional gusts up to 20 mph, will moderate the temperature drop into the 50s on Tuesday night.

Come midweek, the weather situation brightens with the return of partly sunny skies. The work week will be characterized by gradually increasing temperatures, starting at around 70 degrees on Wednesday and climbing to the mid-70s by Friday. The mornings will also experience a warming trend, with lows in the mid-50s on Wednesday rising to approximately 60 degrees by Friday night.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the region can anticipate continued mild conditions. Partly sunny skies are likely, accompanied by high temperatures in the mid-70s and comfortable lows around 60 degrees. Saturday appears to be perfect for outdoor activities. Although there is a slight chance of showers later on Sunday due to a passing disturbance, the majority of the Houston metro area is expected to remain dry.

As we approach next week, the region is likely to witness the arrival of the next front, potentially on Monday or early Tuesday. Although the presence of accompanying showers remains uncertain, this front is expected to bring a notably drier air mass into the Houston region. The temperatures during Tuesday and Wednesday of next week may be slightly cooler, with highs potentially in the 60s.

The outlook for Thanksgiving remains uncertain with a wide range of possibilities. At this point, model forecasts vary significantly, predicting high temperatures anywhere between the mid-50s and about 80 degrees. A reinforcing cool front or an onshore flow leading to showers are both plausible outcomes. As soon as further clarity emerges, we will keep you informed.

In the meantime, enjoy the mild and partly sunny weekend ahead, making the most of the comfortable temperatures and pleasant conditions.
