Two SEPTA Employees Injured in Track Equipment Incident in Radnor Township

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania - Two SEPTA employees sustained injuries on Saturday in an incident involving track equipment near the County Line Station on the Norristown High-Speed Line.
According to a spokesperson from SEPTA, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. in Radnor Township, Delaware County. The employees were struck by a vehicle that was being used for rail tie removal work on the line.
One of the workers who was struck was immediately taken to Lankenau Medical Center for treatment and was later released. The second employee, unfortunately, became trapped under the vehicle for approximately an hour. SEPTA officials reported that emergency personnel, along with SEPTA personnel, successfully freed the individual, who was then stabilized at the scene and urgently transported to Lankenau.
In response to the incident, the Radnor Fire Company and other emergency teams swiftly arrived at the scene to provide assistance and support.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, shuttle buses have been put into operation between the Bryn Mawr Station and Norristown Transportation Center. This arrangement will remain in place until the investigation is completed. However, normal boarding has resumed for all trains between Radnor Station and Hughes Park Station.
SEPTA has also canceled the scheduled track work for both Saturday and Sunday in light of the incident.
Authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the accident and ensure the safety of all SEPTA workers. The identities of the injured employees have not been released at this time.
