Former President Donald Trump has resumed his presence at the Manhattan defamation trial filed against him by writer E. Jean Carroll. The trial, which has experienced multiple delays, was postponed earlier this week due to illness among the jury and Trump's lawyer, Alina Habba.

As the trial resumes, Trump finds himself listed as one of two possible witnesses for the defense. However, he is prohibited from contesting the previous jury's decision that he sexually abused Carroll. Despite this restriction, Trump has indicated his intention to defy the judge's orders and reiterate his previous claims that he does not know Carroll.

Throughout the trial that began on January 16, Trump has clashed with Judge Lewis Kaplan. During Carroll's testimony last week, the judge even admonished Trump to lower his voice while speaking to his lawyer. Trump responded defiantly, expressing his willingness to be removed from the courtroom.

In the midst of the trial proceedings, Trump emerged victorious in the New Hampshire primary, securing a significant 11-point lead over his sole remaining competitor, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. This win follows his record-breaking performance in the Iowa caucuses just a week ago, effectively paving the way for Trump's path to the GOP nomination.

As the trial unfolds, all eyes are now focused on Trump's expected appearance on the stand. The former president's continued defiance and his determination to deny knowledge of Carroll sets the stage for an intense courtroom showdown.
