Transformer Explosion Evacuates Lenox Hotel in Boston

The Boston Fire Department swiftly responded to a transformer explosion at the Lenox Hotel, resulting in the evacuation of guests and staff. The incident occurred on Saturday, shortly before 1 p.m., causing a significant buildup of smoke inside the hotel.
Officials from the Boston Fire Department took to social media to share the updates regarding the incident. Within 20 minutes, it was confirmed that the explosion did not cause a fire within the hotel. However, firefighters detected high levels of carbon monoxide in the building as a result of the transformer explosion.
Fortunately, the carbon monoxide levels inside the hotel have since dropped, and firefighters are diligently venting the smoke out of the building using multiple fans. Deputy Fire Chief Martin McCormack assured the public that the hotel was safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.
