Tragic West End Shooting Claims Life of 11-Year-Old, Leaves Five Others Injured

CINCINNATI - A deadly shooting in the West End on Friday night has left an 11-year-old child dead and five other individuals hospitalized, according to the Cincinnati Police Department.

The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on Bent Drive, where authorities received reports of multiple gunshot victims. Upon arrival, police discovered six people who had been shot, including the young victim who tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Of the surviving victims, three were rushed to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, while the remaining two were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment. One of the victims at the children's hospital is currently battling life-threatening injuries.

The conditions of the wounded victims are currently unknown, and authorities have yet to release any information about potential suspects or the motive behind the shooting. Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge stated on Friday evening that no suspect descriptions were available at that time.

In response to this harrowing incident, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge, Mayor Aftab Pureval, and City Manager Sheryl Long have announced they will be hosting a press conference on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the CIS Building on Linn Street.
