In a horrifying incident that took place early Sunday morning, a man, a woman, and a five-year-old boy were discovered stabbed to death inside an apartment building in the Bronx, according to authorities.

The police were initially alerted to the crime when they received a 911 call reporting a stabbing at 674 East 136th Street in the Mott Haven neighborhood. Upon arriving at the scene around 6:40 a.m., officers found a man in his 20s with stab wounds to his chest in the first-floor hallway of the building.

As the investigation unfolded, law enforcement sources mentioned that officers noticed movement inside an adjacent apartment through a window. Upon closer inspection, they discovered a child inside the apartment and decided to break in to ensure their safety.

Inside the apartment, they found the lifeless body of a woman, whose age has yet to be determined, with fatal stab wounds. Tragically, all three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

Authorities are still trying to establish the relationship between the man, woman, and child, as it has not been immediately clear whether they were related or not.

Residents of the building were shocked by the gruesome incident and expressed their concern over the changing dynamics within the apartment. Akakpo Kodjogan, a 62-year-old resident who has lived in the building since 2007, revealed that the apartment they occupied belonged to the building's superintendent and had recently been occupied by new tenants. Kodjogan lamented the fact that the building, which was once considered safe, was now facing unsettling situations due to the presence of unfamiliar individuals.

Another neighbor, a 41-year-old man who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed that only the three victims resided in the super's old apartment. Describing them as quiet individuals, he disclosed that he did not know them well personally but would exchange greetings when passing in the hallway. He also mentioned that he did not witness or hear any commotion during the night.

Medey Mercado, a 55-year-old resident who has lived on the fifth floor for a decade, recounted the disturbing sight of the man's lifeless body earlier that day.

As the investigation into this tragic incident continues, authorities have launched an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death for each victim. Police are also working diligently to identify the deceased individuals and notify their relatives before releasing their names to the public.

The community remains on edge as they grapple with the shock and sadness surrounding this brutal crime. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in their ongoing investigation.
