A horrifying incident unfolded in Delaware County when a shooting at a home on Lewis Avenue in East Lansdowne resulted in the death of six individuals, including parents Xuong Le and Britni McLaughlin-Le, along with their three children, 10-year-old Xavier, 13-year-old NaKayla, and 17-year-old NaTalya. The devastating event occurred on February 7, according to authorities cited by NBC News.

The tragedy began with a 911 call reporting that NaKayla had been shot by her uncle, identified as Cahn Le. The call was made by the girl's grandparents, who managed to escape the scene. However, when the police arrived, chaos erupted as they were met with gunfire. Both a Lansdowne Police Department officer and an East Lansdowne Police Department officer were shot in the midst of the commotion. Thankfully, Upper Darby police swiftly intervened, providing protective shields and rescuing the injured officers from the line of fire, as reported by 6abc Action News.

Approximately 15 minutes after the officers' arrival, the home suddenly caught fire, causing first responders to step back for safety. According to sources, it is believed that the shooter was firing from the third floor of the house. Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer disclosed that Cahn Le is thought to be the sixth body recovered from the residence.

The medical examiner is currently investigating the cause and manner of death for all the victims, whether they succumbed to gunfire or the burns from the subsequent house fire. As of now, the motive behind the tragic incident remains unknown, leaving both the Le family and the community shaken in horror.

During a vigil held over the weekend, Justin McLaughlin, the brother of Britni McLaughlin-Le, expressed gratitude that none of the family members had to face the aftermath of such a horrific event. He stated, "As hard as it is, we are grateful that none had to survive the other and live through such a horrific event. And know that they all died the same way they lived, which was together."

The devastating incident has left the close-knit community of East Lansdowne in pain. East Lansdowne Mayor Majovie Bland, while visiting the scene, expressed her sorrow, stating, "I've seen these kids walk to and from school. I've seen these kids at our community events. East Lansdowne is in pain."

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of the Le family and there is a collective hope for answers and closure surrounding this unfathomable tragedy.
