Four Teenagers Killed in High-Speed Crash on I-95 in Johnston County
A tragic accident on Interstate 95 in Johnston County claimed the lives of four teenagers in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred when a 17-year-old driver, identified as Alan Lee Lockamy of Archer Lodge, lost control of the vehicle while traveling at a speed of 104 mph.
At approximately 2:39 a.m., a North Carolina State Highway Patrol officer noticed a Kia Soul speeding down the highway. Using radar, the trooper recorded the car's alarming speed. In an attempt to apprehend the speeding vehicle, the trooper gave chase but eventually lost sight of it.
According to investigators, the car took exit ramp 93, veered off the road, and collided with multiple trees. Tragically, Lockamy and the front-seat passenger, 17-year-old Freddy Seras of Clayton, became trapped inside the vehicle, while the two back-seat passengers, Christopher Wayne Jackson, 17, of Smithfield, and Semaj Lejai Williams, who was days away from turning 16, were ejected from the car. All four occupants lost their lives in the devastating crash.
The victims were identified as current or former students of Smithfield-Selma High School, adding to the heartbreak of the Johnston County community. The news of this tragic event has left families and friends devastated as they come to terms with the loss of their loved ones.
