The young man, identified as Michael Alexander McMinn, was not only a beloved teacher but also the son of a local pastor, according to statements provided by the school and the church.

The Abbeville County Sheriff's Office received a distress call at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, reporting a gunshot wound at a residence on Keowee Road. Captain Matthew Graham stated that upon their arrival, deputies found McMinn in the bedroom, having sustained a single gunshot wound.
