Three Dead in Tragic Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer on Interstate 91 South

Wethersfield, Conn. - A devastating crash on Sunday morning involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle on Interstate 91 South has left three people dead. The incident occurred near Exit 25 and caused the temporary closure of the highway.
According to State Police, the tragic accident took place at approximately 4:53 a.m. Investigators reported that a vehicle had been parked on the right shoulder of I-91 South when a second vehicle traveling south abruptly veered into the rear of the parked car for reasons still unknown.
The driver of the first vehicle, Kiran Johns, a 26-year-old from Pennsylvania, fortunately escaped any injuries and declined medical treatment. However, the second vehicle's driver, 41-year-old Kory Watson from Virginia, tragically lost his life at the scene. Additionally, two passengers in Watson's vehicle, Lacy Marie Price, 32, and Rebbecca Marie Schutte, 36, both from Florida, were sadly pronounced deceased later on.
The crash also involved three other passengers in Watson's vehicle, all minors, who were immediately transported to Connecticut's Children's Medical Center with suspected minor injuries.
Following the accident, Interstate 91 South was temporarily shut down between Exit 25S and 25N. However, it has since reopened to traffic.
