KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Tragedy struck in east Kansas City on Friday evening as a shootout between two vehicles claimed the life of a 15-year-old teen, identified as Aaron Amparan, and left another teen injured. The incident occurred in the 6000 block of east 13th Street, according to local authorities.

Police reports indicate that the shooting took place just before 6 p.m. The authorities quickly responded to the scene and discovered one teen unresponsive near a vehicle that had crashed into a pole. It was determined that the teens had exchanged gunfire with another vehicle, making it a targeted incident.

Though initial reports stated that three individuals had been injured, police later clarified that only one teen had died as a result of the shootout.
