A suspected robber was fatally shot during an attempted robbery at a gun store in California, according to reports from Fox News. The incident occurred at East Bay Firearms in Livermore, roughly 45 miles east of San Francisco.

The Livermore Police Department stated that on Sunday, before 2:30 p.m., the suspect, a 28-year-old man from Redwood, entered the gun store wearing a mask, a hooded sweatshirt, and gloves, while acting suspiciously. Witnesses told the police that the suspect tried to rob the store owner by wielding a hammer and attempting to take a firearm.

In response to the threat, the store owner, whose identity has not been disclosed, grabbed a gun and fired two rounds at the suspected robber. The authorities arrived shortly after responding to a burglary report and found the suspect suffering from a gunshot wound. Sadly, the suspect died at the scene.

Fortunately, none of the five customers present in the store during the attempted robbery were injured, as confirmed by the police. The gun store owner is reportedly cooperating with the investigation and is not considered a suspect in the case.
