In a tragic incident that claimed the lives of four Pepperdine University students, star baseball player Fraser Bohm, 22, pleaded not guilty to murder charges during his court appearance. Bohm, who initially faced vehicular manslaughter charges, claimed that he was being chased on the road, which led to him losing control of his BMW and colliding with parked vehicles.

The hearing took place at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Van Nuys on Wednesday, where Bohm's bail was lowered from $8 million to $4 million. Several family members, visibly distraught, attended the hearing to support Bohm as they left the courtroom together.

The fatal car crash occurred on the Pacific Coast Highway on October 17, the night after Bohm's 22nd birthday. The four victims, Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams, all 21 years old, were pronounced dead at the scene. Bohm, who had no previous criminal record, allegedly attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by bystanders.

The stretch of road where the accident occurred, known as "Blood Alley" and "Dead Man's Curve," has a notorious reputation for being dangerous. Furious Malibu residents have demanded safety upgrades to the highway after the tragic incident.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that toxicology and speed analysis had been conducted, leading to the escalation of charges against Bohm to murder. The investigation also involved the execution of search warrants.

Tributes have poured in for the four Pepperdine students, who were beloved members of the university community. A memorial service was held at the Malibu campus to honor their lives.

Fraser Bohm's background as a talented high school athlete has come under scrutiny. While it is unclear what he currently does for a living, videos have surfaced showing him as a highly rated high school pitcher. His family's lavish lifestyle, including their $8 million Malibu sea cliff mansion, has also been highlighted.

As the case unfolds, Bohm's plea of not guilty raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the fatal car crash. The court will continue to examine the evidence and witness testimonies to determine the truth behind this tragic incident.
