In an unfortunate incident, a 6-year-old child traveling alone on a Spirit Airlines flight to visit his grandmother in Fort Myers, Florida, was mistakenly placed on a plane headed for Orlando. Spirit Airlines has issued an apology to the family and stated that they are conducting an internal investigation into the matter.
According to an emailed statement to CNN, the incident occurred on December 21. The child was originally scheduled to fly from Philadelphia International Airport to Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers. However, he was incorrectly boarded onto a flight bound for Orlando instead.
Spirit Airlines confirmed that throughout the entire journey, the child was in the care and supervision of a Spirit Team Member. As soon as the airline became aware of the error, immediate steps were taken to communicate with the family and rectify the situation.

Ramos expressed her panic when she discovered that her grandson was not on the expected flight. She recounted receiving a call from her grandson after he landed in Orlando, resulting in a nearly 160-mile drive from Fort Myers to pick him up.
While Spirit Airlines offered to reimburse the family for the drive, Ramos emphasized her desire to understand why this mishap occurred. The airline did not address the specifics of how the mistake happened but assures the public that they take the safety and responsibility of transporting their guests seriously.
