In a distressing turn of events, a 4-year-old boy named Phenix Wilkerson has gone missing from a family camper in southeast Alabama. Shyanne Ray, the boy's mother, reported that she last saw her son before he vanished from their camper in Clayton. Since then, a desperate search effort has been initiated with the assistance of various law enforcement agencies.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation and aviation units have joined forces with the Barbour County Sheriff's Office to locate young Phenix Wilkerson. A spokesperson from ALEA, Jeremy Burkett, confirmed their involvement and the collaboration in an email to AL.com on Sunday morning.

Sheriff Tyrone Smith of Barbour County has assembled a team comprising helicopters, divers, and ground searchers to comb the area for any signs of the missing child. The local community members, driven by compassion and concern, have also volunteered to assist the authorities in their search efforts.

According to an alert issued by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Phenix Wilkerson was last seen at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The boy, who is autistic and nonverbal, responds to his name. Shyanne Ray expressed her worry about her son's well-being, especially considering the adverse weather conditions that have persisted since his disappearance.

Cold temperatures and rain have further heightened the urgency to locate Phenix Wilkerson and bring him safely back home. As the search continues, law enforcement urges anyone with information about the missing boy's whereabouts to contact the Barbour County Sheriff's Office at 334-775-3434 or dial 911.
