In a recent broadcast on the X social media platform, embattled New York Republican Rep George Santos acknowledged that he expects to face expulsion from the House as early as this week. The 35-year-old congressman, who has been plagued by scandal, bravely stated that he would wear his expulsion as a badge of honor.

During an X Space event hosted by right-wing personality Monica Matthews, Santos expressed his certainty about the forthcoming expulsion, stating, "I know I'm going to get expelled when this expulsion resolution goes to the floor." He further admitted that he had done the math multiple times, and the outcome did not look favorable for him.

Although uncertain about the timeline, House Speaker Mike Johnson revealed that he has had extensive discussions with Congressman Santos regarding his options. When asked if there would be a vote on Santos's fate this week, Johnson responded, "It remains to be seen. It's not yet determined."

The latest blow to Santos's already tumultuous political career came in the form of a comprehensive 56-page report released by the House Ethics Committee earlier this month. The report reveals evidence pointing to Santos's violation of federal law, describing it as "substantial."

While the specific details of the violations outlined in the ethics report remain undisclosed, this development further compounds the troubles faced by Santos. Over the course of his short political career, he has been embroiled in a series of scandals that have tarnished his reputation and called into question his adherence to ethical standards.

As the possibility of expulsion looms over Santos, the fate of his position within the House hangs in the balance. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to salvage his political career or if he will indeed face the ignominy of expulsion. The coming days will undoubtedly provide a decisive turning point for the beleaguered representative.
