In a recent video posted on X, Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan accused President Joe Biden of supporting "the genocide of the Palestinian people." The video, approximately one and a half minutes long, features footage from protests in various states, including Michigan, California, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, where people held Palestinian flags and chanted phrases like "Free Palestine!"

In the video, Tlaib expresses her disagreement with the President, stating, "Mr. President, the American people are not with you on this one." The video concludes with Tlaib asserting that Americans will remember Biden's support for the alleged genocide in the upcoming 2024 elections. The claim is reiterated in large capital letters, stating, "Joe Biden supported the genocide of the Palestinian people."

Tlaib's video comes just one day after she criticized the Biden administration for supporting funding that could potentially be used for what she described as "war crimes." As the only Palestinian American in Congress, Tlaib directly targeted Biden in her statement, accusing him of cheering on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu despite ongoing protests against his refusal to support a ceasefire.

Tlaib is just one of several Muslim American leaders in battleground states who have been warning President Biden about losing support from their communities due to his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict. Biden had recently called for an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza, following a statement made by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, advocating for humanitarian pauses to ensure the flow of essential supplies like food, water, and medicine into the region.

Tlaib has consistently called for a cease-fire in the war, particularly in response to Hamas attacks that have resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,400 people in Israel. Additionally, she has criticized U.S. funding for the Israeli military, arguing that it lacks consideration for humanitarian aspects. Tlaib even delivered remarks at a rally on October 18 outside the Capitol, where demonstrators called for an immediate halt to hostilities.

According to estimates provided by the United Nations, over 1.4 million people have been displaced in Gaza, and Palestinian health officials report that more than 9,200 individuals have lost their lives in the region.

The allegations made by Tlaib against President Biden highlight the growing divide and dissatisfaction within certain communities regarding the administration's handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how this controversy will impact the Biden administration's approach towards the region and its relationships with key stakeholders.
