President Zelensky Holds Meetings on Fortification Works in Zaporizhzhia, Mobilization of Resources Discussed

President Volodymyr Zelensky recently chaired a meeting in Zaporizhzhia to address the issue of mobilizing resources for fortification works in Ukraine. The meeting focused on attracting resources, motivating private businesses, and financing the construction of structures in key areas.
The President held two important meetings during his visit to Zaporizhzhia. The first meeting was with military officials, including Generals Tarnavskyi, Moskaliov, Litvinov, and other defense authorities responsible for the Zaporizhzhia region. The second meeting was a nationwide gathering focused on fortifications. The discussions encompassed major areas such as Avdiivka, Maryinka, Kupyansk-Lyman defense line, as well as regions including Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Rivne, Volyn, and Kherson.
Reports from regional authorities and military commanders, including Defense Minister Umerov and General Pavliuk, highlighted the need for resources, support from private businesses, and financing for fortification works. The priority areas identified were Avdiivka, Maryinka, and other locations in Donetsk region.
President Zelensky expressed his gratitude to all those involved in the construction and production of materials for fortifications. Discussions also revolved around addressing the needs required to strengthen defense lines and the construction of shelters in schools, with particular attention given to Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region. The President emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe learning environment where children can study both offline and in a mixed format.
During his visit to Kharkiv, President Zelensky visited a metro school where students study in classrooms located within the safety of a subway shelter. The President commended the project and had the honor of awarding teachers from Kharkiv and the surrounding region for their contribution to education in Ukraine.
Earlier in the day, President Zelensky visited Kupyansk, meeting with General Syrskyi and commanders fighting in the Kupyansk sector. During the meeting, the President presented awards to five officers and expressed his gratitude to the soldiers, sergeants, and junior officers for their resilience and hard work.
In addition to his engagements in Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv, President Zelensky also had phone conversations with German Chancellor Scholz, British Prime Minister Sunak, and Bulgarian Prime Minister Denkov. The President expressed gratitude for the ongoing implementation of agreements between Ukraine and these countries, as well as discussions on further joint steps towards protecting the people, Europe, and the international legal order.
President Zelensky concluded his statement by expressing his admiration and support for the heroes currently engaged in combat, as well as the strong Ukrainian people.
The meeting in Zaporizhzhia highlights the importance placed on fortification works and mobilization of resources to strengthen Ukraine's defense lines.
