In a recent interview on CNN's "Inside Politics," prominent Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg expressed concerns about President Biden's falling approval ratings and advised a shift in the campaign message. Greenberg emphasized the need for Biden to address rising inflation, hold large companies accountable, and tackle "profiteering" among politicians.

Despite certain positive economic indicators, Greenberg stressed that voters are primarily concerned about the increasing struggle to cope with inflation. A recent poll revealed that more than half of voters feel worse off personally during Biden's presidency, indicating a decline in public satisfaction.

Greenberg went on to explain that Biden's approval rating hit a record low of 34 percent in a survey conducted by Monmouth University, underscoring the urgency for the president to appeal to Americans grappling with inflation in order to regain support.

According to Greenberg, the "main problem" for voters is inflation and the cost of living. To address these concerns, he suggested that the Biden campaign should prioritize messaging related to enacting an income tax credit, reducing drug prices, and lowering healthcare costs.

The pollster further emphasized the importance of shifting the campaign narrative from touting progress to acknowledging the public sentiment that the country is on the wrong track. Greenberg urged the president to acknowledge the impact of inflation on his own supporters and communicate a clear plan for addressing this challenge.

In his analysis, Greenberg drew on a survey conducted by Democracy Corps among 2,500 voters in battleground states. The results, described as "grim" by Greenberg, underscore the imperative for the Biden campaign to reassess its messaging strategy.

As President Biden faces a decline in approval ratings and mounting concerns about inflation, it remains to be seen how his campaign will adapt its messaging to resonate with voters. Greenberg's advice to focus on addressing economic hardships through concrete measures may prove instrumental in stabilizing the president's support base.
