NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - In the early morning hours of Saturday, North Charleston Police responded to a deadly crash on Palmetto Commerce Parkway, which resulted in the death of one individual.

According to police spokesman Harve Jacobs, the crash was reported shortly before 2 a.m. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered a vehicle in the woods completely engulfed in flames.

Tragically, one person was found deceased outside the vehicle, as confirmed by Jacobs.

As of now, the identity of the victim has not been released, pending further investigation by the Charleston County Coroner's Office.
