Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a bold claim in Parliament on Monday, asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a staggering 370 seats in the upcoming elections, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to surpass 400 seats. PM Modi confidently stated that his government's accomplishments over the past decade will pave the way for India to become the third-largest economy under the BJP-led NDA government.

During his reply to the Motion of Thanks to the President's address in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi took a swipe at the Congress party, citing former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram's statement in 2014, where he had proudly declared India as the 11th largest economy. PM Modi pointed out that India has now climbed to the fifth spot, emphasizing that the country's progress should not be delayed any further.

"With the experience of ten years of governance, and considering the robust state of our economy and its rapid progress, I can confidently say that in our third term, India will be the third-largest economic power. This is Modi's guarantee," PM Modi declared.

Highlighting his government's achievements, PM Modi mentioned the construction of four crore homes for the poor, including 80 lakh pucca houses for the urban poor. He criticized the speed at which the Congress party would have accomplished such projects, asserting that it would have taken a century to achieve if they were in power.

PM Modi also expressed his contentment with the scrapping of the British-era penal codes and reiterated his vision for a developed India. In addition, he celebrated the construction of the grand Ram temple, expressing confidence in the BJP's victory in the upcoming elections. "Lord Ram has returned not only home but to such a grand temple that it is definite that 'Abki baar 400 paar' (This time, 400 plus). Even Kharge ji (Mallikarjun Kharge) is saying it. Not only will NDA win 400+ seats, but the BJP itself will secure 370 seats," he announced.

The Prime Minister further targeted the opposition parties, particularly the Congress, and their speeches during the debate on the motion of thanks. He sarcastically commended their determination to stay in the opposition for a long time, drawing parallels to their decades-long tenure in government.

About sixty speakers participated in the debate on the motion of thanks to the President's address in the Lok Sabha during the ongoing Budget Session, which began on January 31 and will conclude on February 9.

PM Modi's ambitious predictions and assurances of a stronger economy have sparked both anticipation and skepticism among the politicians and citizens of India. As the nation awaits the upcoming elections, all eyes will be on whether the BJP and the NDA can live up to their leader's remarkable claims.
