Pittsfield Man Killed in Interstate 93 Crash; Alleged Impaired Driver Arrested

In a tragic incident on Friday night, a Pittsfield man lost his life after being struck by an alleged impaired driver while outside his disabled vehicle on Interstate 93 in Sanbornton. The New Hampshire State Police responded to multiple calls around 10:30 p.m. reporting a two-vehicle crash on the southbound side of the highway near mile marker 63, located before Exit 22.
Upon arriving at the scene, troopers discovered an Audi Q5 approximately 20 feet down the embankment and a Volkswagen Jetta about 100 feet south and off in the median. According to the state police, the driver of the Volkswagen Jetta, identified as Gabriel Anthony, a 24-year-old resident of Pittsfield, had become disabled in the right breakdown lane.
Tragically, while Anthony was outside his vehicle, both he and the Jetta were struck by the Audi Q5, driven by Kristina Perry, a 38-year-old resident of Franklin. Despite the authorities' swift response, Anthony was pronounced dead on the scene. Perry sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, as confirmed by the state police.
Following the incident, Kristina Perry was arrested for driving while impaired and is currently being held without bail. She is scheduled to make her first appearance in court on Monday to face the charges levied against her.
In the aftermath of the crash, one lane of Interstate 93 was closed for approximately six hours, causing significant traffic disruption, as stated by the state police.
