Pierce Brosnan, famous for portraying the iconic spy James Bond on the big screen, is facing legal trouble in real life after allegedly stepping into a restricted thermal area during a recent visit to Yellowstone National Park. The actor, aged 70, received two federal citations this week for trespassing in the off-limits Mammoth Terraces region of the park, situated in the northern part near the Wyoming-Montana border.

According to the citations, Brosnan ventured into the thermal area on 1 November, putting himself at risk and potentially violating safety regulations. The US attorney's office for Wyoming has scheduled a mandatory court appearance for Brosnan on 23 January, to address the charges brought against him by Yellowstone authorities.

While Brosnan has not yet publicly commented on the incident, inquiries were made to his Instagram account, as well as his agent and attorney, by the Associated Press. Yellowstone officials have chosen not to provide any statements regarding the matter at this time.

It is important to note that Mammoth Terraces is a visually stunning location within Yellowstone, adorned with mineral-encrusted hot springs that bubble from the hillside. These thermal features are only a fraction of the park's vast collection, which comprises various geysers and mud pots, some of which exhibit water at or near its boiling point.

Recklessly venturing off the designated paths in such thermal areas poses significant risks, as countless visitors to Yellowstone have suffered severe burns due to disregarding the warnings and straying off the trail.
