A passenger trolley carrying about 20 people overturned in St. Johns on Friday evening, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to 16 individuals, according to St. Johns Deputy Chief of Police, Andy Tobias. The incident occurred in preparation for the Santa Parade and prompted a prompt response from the St. Johns Police Department.

At approximately 5:06 p.m. on Friday, the St. Johns Police Department received a dispatch to the 200 block of N. Clinton St. in response to the overturned trolley. Officials on the scene discovered that approximately 20 passengers were aboard the trolley at the time of the accident.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the passengers were reported to be non-life-threatening. Tobias confirmed that all injured individuals who were transported to Sparrow Clinton Hospital in St. Johns or Sparrow Hospital in Lansing have already received medical treatment and have been released.

Authorities have determined that alcohol was not a factor in the trolley accident, according to the St. Johns Police Department. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and it remains unclear what led to the trolley overturning.
