Ocala, Florida - Tragedy struck the Ocala Paddock Mall on Saturday when a targeted shooting occurred, resulting in one fatality and several people sustaining injuries. The mall, located approximately an hour and a half north of Orlando, became the scene of the disturbing incident around 3:40 p.m., prompting a swift response from local authorities.

Law enforcement officials from the Ocala Police Department were alerted to the situation after receiving a call reporting multiple shots fired at the mall on State Road 200. Upon their arrival, officers quickly determined that the incident was not an "active shooter" scenario, but rather a targeted shooting that had taken place.

Inside the mall's common area, authorities discovered the lifeless body of a male victim who had succumbed to gunshot wounds. The individual's identity has not yet been released by the authorities. Additionally, a woman was wounded in the leg during the incident and is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital, where she is expected to survive.
