In a harrowing incident on Saturday night, a New Hampshire State Police cruiser was struck on Interstate 93 northbound in Canterbury. The incident occurred at approximately 11:19 p.m. when a vehicle collided with the cruiser while an officer was assisting another crash on the busy highway.

Thankfully, the trooper inside the cruiser emerged from the collision unscathed. However, the driver responsible for striking the cruiser sustained minor injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Due to this unfortunate incident, along with multiple other crashes and challenging road conditions, authorities made the difficult decision to shut down I-93 North for a period of around an hour and a half. This temporary closure aimed to ensure the safety of motorists and facilitate the necessary response from emergency services.

The New Hampshire State Police received valuable assistance from several entities during the incident. The Canterbury Fire Department, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, New England Truck Center-Concord, and Matt Brown's Truck Repair joined efforts to mitigate the impact of the collision and provide support to the affected individuals.

As investigations into the exact cause of the crash are underway, it serves as a reminder for drivers to exercise caution, particularly when emergency personnel are present at crash scenes. Staying alert, adhering to speed limits, and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles are crucial elements in ensuring the safety of everyone on our roads.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and work diligently to restore normalcy to the affected section of I-93 North. Commuters and travelers are advised to stay updated through reliable news sources and official announcements.
