Tony Janssens, a lifelong Chiefs fan, credits his military background for his ability to quickly respond to the chaos that unfolded during the celebratory event.

Janssens vividly recalls hearing the gunfire and immediately realizing that it was not fireworks. Taking cover on the ground, he witnessed a man with bullet wounds lying nearby, underscoring the severity of the situation. Disturbed by individuals attempting to record the unfolding tragedy on their phones, Janssens urged others to prioritize their safety and flee the scene.

As Janssens sprinted away, he accidentally bumped into three suspects, one of whom had suffered a catastrophic injury to his jaw.
