Authorities in Massachusetts are intensifying their search for Aaron Pennington, a 33-year-old Air Force veteran, in connection with the death of his wife Breanne Pennington, 30. A recently filed court document sheds light on the tragic incident that occurred on Sunday morning.

According to the office of Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early, an application for a criminal complaint was filed on Sunday, accusing Aaron Pennington of unlawfully possessing a firearm without a license to carry. The document reveals that the couple's four children sought help from a neighbor at around 9:14 a.m. on Sunday, expressing fear due to their inability to find their father and their mother's distressed state.

Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers discovered Breanne Pennington in an upstairs bedroom with a fatal gunshot wound to the face. While three shell casings were found in the bedroom, no weapons were recovered from the home. The trooper who filed the application noted that the investigation revealed longstanding marital issues between the couple and a plan by Breanne Pennington to relocate to Texas with their children. Concerningly, Aaron Pennington struggled with mental health challenges and had previously made threats of self-harm.

The court document further elaborates that Breanne Pennington possessed a firearm for personal protection, but neither she nor Aaron Pennington had a license to carry. Surveillance camera footage indicates that Aaron Pennington left the residence at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, driving a 2013 BMW 320 sedan with the Massachusetts Veteran plate No. 8A30. However, authorities now suspect that he may have switched license plates to either Texas tag DTZ3103 or California Plate 6CWN728.

Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early has described Aaron Pennington as "armed and dangerous." As law enforcement agencies intensify their efforts to locate him, neighbors are urged to exercise caution. Aaron Pennington is described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

As of Sunday night, the four children of the couple were placed in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Anyone with information regarding Aaron Pennington's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Massachusetts State Police at 508-829-8236 or the Gardner Police Department at 978-632-5600.

This tragic incident underscores the importance of addressing mental health concerns and the need for proper licensing and responsible firearm ownership. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Breanne Pennington and Aaron Pennington's potential involvement are ongoing as law enforcement works diligently to bring justice to the situation.
