LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Deobra Redden, the man who catapulted himself over a courtroom bench to attack a judge in a now-viral video, appeared before a different judge in a separate courtroom, facing additional charges related to the same incident.

During his initial appearance on Tuesday morning, Redden faced more than a dozen charges, five more than what were previously filed when he refused to attend court last Thursday. The updated charges, now brought forward by prosecutors, include attempted murder against an older person.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson confirmed that his office intended to file additional charges against Redden. Wolfson stated that they would carefully review all the reports and witness statements to determine the appropriate charges based on Redden's behavior in court. Substantial bodily harm suffered by individuals involved would also be taken into consideration, potentially leading to felony charges.

The charges against Redden during his second appearance include attempted murder against an older person, battery on a protected person resulting in substantial bodily harm against an older person, intimidating a public officer with threat of force, disregarding the safety of a person resulting in substantial bodily harm, battery by a probationer or parolee, and unlawful act regarding fluid by a prisoner in confinement.

On Monday, Redden arrived at a sentencing hearing surrounded by seven law enforcement officers, appearing in court shackled and wearing a spit guard and rubber gloves. His appearance on Tuesday mirrored Monday's with officers surrounding him, him being shackled, and wearing a medical-type face mask.
